Kasey was born on National Fire Safety day, October 8, 1993. She is trained by her fire fighter/owner, Jeff Owens, to demonstrate basic fire and life safety skills. Through her performances at elementary schools, day care centers, community fire prevention events, the Indianapolis Children’s Museum, and on stage with MCAxe and the Fire Crew, Kasey has taught over 2 million children! Her schedule reaches out to over 400,000 people annually.

Kasey is a trained search and rescue dog, a certified Therapy Dog, has her own fire fighter’s badge, and performs across the Eastern half of the United States.

Kasey has four main jobs:

Family Dog
Search and Rescue Dog
Therapy Dog
Fire and Life Safety Dog

Kasey demonstrates the five basic fire and life safety skills:

crawl under the smoke,
know two ways out of every room,
feel the door or window before opening it,
tell an adult when she finds matches or lighters,
and her famous stop, drop, and roll!

Kasey performs more than 400 times a hear for more than 400,000 people annually. She has been recognized by the Mayor of Indianapolis, IN with a proclamation. She has received thousands of letters and e-mails from families grateful for her life-saving program.
