Kasey was born on National Fire Safety day, October 8, 1998. She is trained by her firefighter/owner, Jeff Owens, to demonstrate basic fire and life safety skills. Through her performances at elementary schools, day care centers, community fire prevention events, the Indianapolis Children’s Museum, Kasey has taught over 2 million children! Her schedule reaches out to over 400,000 people annually in approximately 400 programs.

In Indianapolis, she has received a Proclamation by the Mayor for her service to the community. She has received thousands of letters and e-mails from families grateful for her life-saving program.

The "Kasey" program is an instructional program geared for preschool through 6th grade students. Since the program's inception in 1994 Kasey has performed at thousands of venues. The Kasey Program© offers an educational and potentially life saving message in an entertaining format. Kasey performs all of the fire and life safety skills that are taught to our young people. By utilizing the natural bond between children and dogs, the child's attention is easily focused on the skills taught. With the use of Kasey and live music, the children receive an entertaining and educational program. Jeff Owens is a professional firefighter/paramedic with over 25 years of experience, and has seen the tragedies caused by fire. Our goal is to bring this important message to all that will listen. Kasey has taught more than 3 million children across the United States. Koorsen Fire & Security recognized the importance and value of this program and provides the financial support needed to allow the program to reach the greatest number of children possible. Kasey also works in cooperation with the Indianapolis Firefighter's Survive Alive Program. You can schedule a visit to Survive Alive and request Kasey to be at Survive Alive with your group. Our ability to teach at Survive Alive is dependant on our availability. The Kasey Program© targets large and small groups.
